Gaming Rant, for those of you that may be unfamiliar with my history, is a website that I’ve been operating for over six years. This blog wouldn’t even exist if it weren’t for Gaming Rant’s success, since I created this blog as a secondary means to write content not particularly related to the video game industry. After a while, my activity over on Gaming Rant dwindled, and I found myself favouring this blog. I just felt more free, and like publishing here was somehow less restrictive. Unfortunately, my limited activity over at Gaming Rant, left the site a virtual wasteland. Sure, it still had several other editors working for it, but they too eventually left with my absence, and lack of support.
And yet surprisingly, the website never truly died. Sure, viewership levels are now officially at an alltime low, but the website is still outperforming this blog by a fair amount. For instance, this blog? In January, it had 72 visits, whereas Gaming Rant, in the same time period, had 243 visits. Going back a bit further to October 2015, this blog received 137 visits, whereas Gaming Rant had 1,350. Clearly people are still visiting Gaming Rant, even though I quite honestly have no idea as to why.
That’s why I’ve officially decided to start writing to Gaming Rant again. Well, technically I decided to revive the website back in December of last year, but that was just a general announcement article detailing the core basics. Now, I’ve gone ahead and published the future plans for Gaming Rant, and let me tell you right now, it’s awesome. Podcasts, reviews, interviews, giveaways, editorials, opinion pieces. You name it, Gaming Rant’s got it, but with a newly refreshed indie focus.
So yeah, if you’re one of those dudes that enjoys reading about the video game industry, please consider subscribing to Gaming Rant. It’s not like you’ve got anything to lose, especially since both websites will be giving away free video games.
Anyway, that’s it for now.
