Dear EA: This Level of “Support” Is Unacceptable!

Alright, so Electronic Arts. You know who they are, and you know the horror stories.

Personally, I’ve actually had some fairly decent live support chats with them in the past, but I now officially understand why everyone continues to rate EA as the worst company in America. I mean, really? This level of support is absolutely pathetic! They kept spewing out false information, and even lied to me just to get me to go to Microsoft (not EA) for support.

Here’s what I mean.

Chat #1 – EA

info: Your approximate wait time is 0 minute.
info: You are now ready to chat with Hitesh.
Hitesh: Thanks for contacting EA Customer Experience, my name is Hitesh. How may I assist you today?
you: Hey
you: I’m having some problems with Mass Effect 2 for the Xbox 360.
Hitesh: Hello.
you: It seems as though the cerberus code is no longer working. When trying to enter the code in again, it says that it’s already active.
you: I’m not sure how this affects gameplay… but I’d rather have access to the network
you: The game is a part of the Mass Effect Trilogy bundle.
Hitesh: I see. May I know the code please?
you: Sure, hang on. Let me find the box
you: [removed]
Hitesh: Thank you
you: Now, I did recently clear the Xbox 360 cache. Would that have somehow invalidated the code?
Hitesh: Could you please answer the security question: [removed]
you: [removed]
Hitesh: Thank you.
you: Also, I haven’t played Mass Effect 2 in a while, and did an XBL name change via the Xbox One. Could that have somehow invalidated the code? The name change I mean.
Hitesh: Please give me a moment
you: Sure.
Hitesh: Thanks for waiting. I appreciate your time.
you: Sure. 🙂
Hitesh: Please provide me all the possible emails that you have with the Origin.
you: What?
Hitesh: Do you have any other Origin account?
you: Yes, but it’s inactive. I don’t believe my Xbox Live account was using the same Origin email address at the time, so it should be associated with my current active account. However, the other Origin account is [removed].
Hitesh: May I know if you have access to your email “[removed]
“?
you: I do.
Hitesh: I have sent you a verification code on your email. Please provide me that.
you: 613014
Hitesh: Thanks.
Hitesh: I wish to share the information with you that this code is used in this Origin account “[removed]

you: How do I go about signing into Mass Effect 2 using that account?
you: I don’t care which it is registered to, to be honest.
Hitesh: You can use “[removed]” Origin account to play your game.
you: When I launch up the game, there’s no login prompt. It just takes me to the main menu after I press the start button.
you: Do you by chance know when the code was redeemed? I changed my gamertag on November 19th, 2014. I’m using the same Xbox Live account. I remember having issues with the name change and EA licenses before… so that’s why I ask.
Hitesh: The code you provided is a PC code and it will not work on Xbox 360
you: That’s not possible.
Hitesh: The details are showing me that its for CERBERUS_NETWORK
you: That’s correct, it’s the Mass Effect 2 Cerberus Network code. The online component of the game.
you: The code is for the Xbox 360. I can take a picture of the piece of paper if you would like further proof.
Hitesh: Xbox codes are not checked on our end and Xbox code is a 25 digit code.
Hitesh: This code is a 16 digit code
you: 2You’re misinformed. The code is redeemed through the Mass Effect video game itself.
you: There’s also a Mass Effect 3 online pass code, though I’ve yet to redeem that, given I’ve yet to play the third game.
Hitesh: The details that are coming up that shows that it’s PC code. At our end we are unable to check Xbox codes.
you: I took a picture. Am I able to send you a link so you can view the image? This is not a PC code.
you: Here’s a picture. I uploaded it to Google Drive, so hopefully you can view it – [removed]
Hitesh: I am able to see that this is linked to your old account. As I searched it ,your code is a PC code and its a 16 digit code. Xbox codes are 25 digit codes.
you: Can you please transfer me to another agent?
Hitesh: Please understand I want to fix your issue but I am sharing the facts of your case.
you: The facts are wrong.
Hitesh: Once again, I apologize , but I will not be able to do what you are requesting . If you do not want have any other issues that I can assist you with that are not related to this , than I will have to disconnect this chat.
you: Were you able to look at the image I sent? It clearly states that this is in fact a code for the Xbox 360 console, and it also states that the code is to be redeemed via the Mass Effect 2 game itself, while the second code provides separate instructions to redeem via Xbox Live. Clearly, the code is *not* an Xbox Live code, but it IS for the Xbox 360.
you: Please do not disconnect me, as this matter has yet to be resolved.
Hitesh: I understand but we are unable to help with Xbox codes
Hitesh: We can’t search Xbox codes
you: This is not an Xbox code, it is redeemable through the video game itself. If this were indeed an Xbox code, it would be longer. The Mass Effect 3 code is an Xbox code, to be redeemed via the Xbox Live redemption interface. Additionally, if this were an Xbox code, it would be tied to my Xbox Live account. Since the code is not functioning, it is not tied to my account. Clearly, this is on your end, not Xbox, Microsoft, or mine.
you: If you are unable to assist me, could you please direct me to someone who can?
Hitesh: Every adviser will provide you the same statement.
you: No they won’t
you: As, quite simply, the statement you provided is inaccurate. I even provided visual proof to back my claim.
info: Your chat transcript will be sent to[removed] at the end of your chat session.
Hitesh: I believe you and it’s a DLC that is used in game.
Hitesh: But the code is a PC code that is why I was able to search it in your other account
you: Yes, but my main question/concern is; why is the content no longer valid/working? If it’s tied to another Origin account, is there a way to put the content onto my main account? I don’t even know why the content would be tied to another account, unless my Xbox Live gamertag was somehow associated with that other account, before I got you guys to remove it and place it on my main.
you: Also, it is *not* a PC code. The image I provided is proof of that.
you: I can only assume that you didn’t look at the image I provided, which is why you’re still insisting upon this being a PC code.
you: Honestly, that kind of confuses me more. Why would your system state the code as being for the PC, when it clearly is not?
Hitesh: We cannot open links on chat’s
you: Is there any way for me to send you the image? It’s the Xbox 360 card that came with the game itself. It clearly shows the Xbox 360 logo, as well as the code.
you: The picture I took also included this chat, for further proof that it was indeed taken by me
Hitesh: I can transfer PC games from your old account to your new account
you: This is not a PC game
you: Though, if you were to do the transfer… I’m curious to see if that would somehow fix the problem. I doubt it would, as if you’re somehow transferring based on the assumption that it’s for the PC, rather than the Xbox… Well, I fear that’d somehow create an issue
Hitesh: I am sorry but I cannot transfer the CODE from old to new account. I can ONLY transfer PC games.
you: So what you’re saying is, I am completely out of luck? That this error (which is clearly on your end, in some way or form) cannot be resolved because your system contradicts what I am telling you, and therefore, you cannot assist me. If that’s the case, can you please transfer me to another agent? Honestly, anyone will do. Perhaps I explained my situation incorrectly.
Hitesh: Well We don’t have the option to transfer but if you still feel that you can disconnect the chat and can contact us again.
you: Thank you.

Chat #2 – EA

info: Your approximate wait time is 0 minute.
info: You are now ready to chat with Bhavya.
Bhavya: Thanks for contacting EA Customer Experience, my name is Bhavya. How may I assist you today?
you: I was recently talking with another agent, and have yet to get my problem resolved. Basically, I have a cerberus code for Mass Effect 2 on the Xbox 360 that is no longer working. According to the other agent, the code was registered to another Origin account, and I would be fine with that, if the game allowed me to sign out of my Sidular account and into the account that it’s registered on. However, I see no option to do that. Also, I don’t know why the code was registered to the other account, aside from the possibility that my Xbox Live email or gamertag was assigned/linked to my other account at the time of registering, which doesn’t make much sense. Anyway, the code is [removed]. The other agent also unhelpfully told me that the code was for the PC, which is inaccurate. I provided visual proof that it’s an Xbox 360 code in the form of a picture of the paper that the code is on, but since you guys are unable to open links, the image was of no help. Anyway, my main question is; how do I regain access to the content associated with the code? I use a single Xbox Live account, though the account was renamed on November 19th, 2014. Not sure if that somehow caused issues with your network, or something. Anyway, sorry for the long message. Wanted to get everything mentioned in a single go. Also, the account that the other agent said the code was linked to is [removed], and yes I have access to the account, so you’re welcome to send an email verification. Also, security answer is [removed].
you: Heh, sorry for the long message
Bhavya: Please wait
Bhavya: The cerberus code is only for the PC game not for XBOX 360.
you: That’s not accurate. Is there any way for me to send you an image of the ‘access codes’ card that came with the game?
Bhavya: Yes
you: How do I send you the image?
Bhavya: Please follow the link  http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-attach-a-file-to-your-ea-help-ticket/
you: Alright, attaching the image now. Will you be able to see it on your end instantly?
you: Also, the image is from the other chat that I had with the other agent. So, it includes the chat in the picture, as proof that it was taken by me.
you: Image has been attached
Bhavya: Okay
Bhavya: I have granted a new code and it is on the account.
Bhavya: Please try now.
you: It’s asking me to redeem a cerberus code when attempting to connect to the network.
you: Should I try restarting my console?
Bhavya: Please log out and restart the PC and log in again and it will not ask the code as i have already linked that to the account.
info: Your chat transcript will be sent to [removed] at the end of your chat session.
you: Alright, restarted the Xbox and it’s asking for me to redeem the code again. So, it doesn’t seem to have worked.
Bhavya: The code did not work on the console and you are getting the same error message.
you: Wait, what code? Should I try entering the original code again?
Bhavya: Please
you: Alright, hang on
Bhavya: Sure
you: “Key code already in use” is what it says.
Bhavya: The new code for the console can be generated by Microsoft.
Bhavya: I will request you to please contact them to get the new code.
you: What should I mention to them? What kind of proof should I provide to ensure that I can secure a new code without any hassle?
Bhavya: They will give you the new code and it will work
Bhavya: The same that you provided to me.
Bhavya: I have applied two codes from my side but they did not work.
you: fMicrosoft doesn’t typically hand out codes without valid reason… are you entirely certain that this isn’t on your end? The code is too short to be an Xbox Live redemption code, and is redeemed via the game itself, not the Xbox interace.
you: *interface
Bhavya: I have done every possible steps.
Bhavya: The issue is in the code.
Bhavya: And they will definitely give you the new code.
you: sAlright, thank you for your time. I am a tad curious to know why you guys believe it’s a PC code though. The other agent also said it was redeemed to another Origin ID, so that’s peculiar too.
Bhavya: I apologize for the inconvenience you experienced. I understand the value of your time and appreciate
your patience and cooperation
Bhavya: Thank you for contacting EA Support. Have a great day.

You are now chatting with ‘Mark Lester T.’.

Mark Lester T.: Hello, thank you for contacting Xbox Customer Support. My name is Mark Lester T.. Please give me a moment to review your question.
you: I was recently in a chat with someone, and clicked a verification link that for some reason didn’t open in a new tab / window, forcing the chat to end prematurely. Are you able to view my past chat, so I don’t have to re-explain everything?
Mark Lester T.: Hi Ty.
Mark Lester T.: How are you doing today?
Mark Lester T.: We know that you had waited for several minutes now to reach us and we want you to know that we really appreciate it.
you: Fairly well
Mark Lester T.: Great! glad to know that, Ty.
Mark Lester T.: Yes, Ty. Im currently reading with your previous chat with the previous rep.
you: Thank you. That’ll make things so much easier.
Mark Lester T.: Yes It is, Ty. You got it right!
you: Also, the last agent requested a photo of the paper that has the codes on it. I’m not sure if that’s still needed?
Mark Lester T.: Yes, We will still need that, Ty.
you: Alright. Where should I upload it? (will delete it after you view it)
Mark Lester T.: So basically you have the Mass Effect Trilogy bundle correct?
you: That’s correct
you: Where should I upload the image? Just anywhere, or do I need to upload it to something more specific?
Mark Lester T.: By the way is this your GAMER TAG            Sidular?
you: Yes
Mark Lester T.: Thank you.
Mark Lester T.: In order for me to access your account details , I need to send a security code on the email or phone number linked on this Xbox Live account to confirm that it’s you we are dealing with.
you: Sure. Please send me an email. Though, I’m not clicking any links this time. Heh. (that’s how I lost access to the chat)
you: Also, I uploaded the image to Google Drive. [removed]
Mark Lester T.: Once you received the code, please provide me with it so that we can unlock your account.
you: 98780350
Mark Lester T.: Thank you.
info: Your chat transcript will be sent to [removed] at the end of your chat.
Mark Lester T.: By the way Ty, This code is for 360 correct?
you: Yes, it’s for the Xbox 360.
Mark Lester T.: Thanks for confirming.
Mark Lester T.: So this is the code that you want to redeemed correct? [removed]
you: No, that one is for Mass Effect 3, though the other agent said that seemed to be invalid too. I don’t recall registering that one yet, and I’ve yet to actually launch Mass Effect 3. The code that I need registered is for the Mass Effect 2 Cerberus Network. The one given to me is [removed]. I remember registering that once before, but it doesn’t seem to be working anymore. When trying to register it again, it gives me an ‘already used’ error.
Mark Lester T.: Alright. I understand your concern, Ty.
you: Also, as said in the other chat, I already contacted EA. They eventually told me to contact you guys. I kinda just want my content to work, you know? I mean, it used to work, and now it doesn’t. Not sure why.
you: You still there?
Mark Lester T.: Yes, I am Ty.
you: So, what exactly is going on?
Mark Lester T.: I have sent an email for you to copy and paste the screenshot for your code for the  Mass Effect 2 Cerberus Network.
you: You sent an email?
Mark Lester T.: Yes.
you: Ah, just got it.
you: Replied.
Mark Lester T.: Thank you,
Mark Lester T.: Let me check it here in our database.
Mark Lester T.: By the way, Ty. May I know when and may I know where do this code came from?
you: It came with the game itself. I purchased it between September 15th – September 19th, 2014. At least, I think it was around then, as I posted a picture of the game onto Facebook on September 19th.
you: Oh, and the game was new.
Mark Lester T.: Oh, Alright. Thanks for the information, Ty.
you: I probably registered the first ME2 code a week or two later, as I’m playing the games in order. Believe it took me a week to finish the first Mass Effect
Mark Lester T.: So basically you have already redeemed this code since you were already playing this game with ME 2, correct?
you: That’s correct. Some time between then and now, the content that came with the code is no longer working. I haven’t played this game for a long while, having recently got an Xbox One. So, I don’t know exactly when the content stopped working. All I know for certain, is I made one major change to my Xbox Live account. I changed the gamertag from bigdaddy8u to Sidular. I believe that was in November, and I haven’t played Mass Effect 2 since then.
you: I tried playing it for the first time in several months two days ago, which is when I noticed that the content was no longer working.
Mark Lester T.: As I have checked the screenshot the code is [removed], correct and not this code. Since here in our end we have codes to be redeemed which are 25 digit codes only for dlc game contents and add ons.
you: What about the other code shown on the paper? There’s two codes there
you: Mass Effect 3 Online Pass and Mass Effect 2 Cerberus Network.
Mark Lester T.: I will give you the steps on how to redeem it Ty. Please hold.
you: Which one? It’s the ME2 one that I’m currently interested in, as it used to work. I redeemed it once already, and it worked for a while.
Mark Lester T.: Redeem code below : When promted after luanching Mass Effect 2 and join cerberus network for access to the firewalker pack, arc projector weapon and Cerberus assault gear.
Mark Lester T.: You may need to redeem this code [removed] for your Mass Effect 2 Cerberus Network through In game.
you: That’s what I did. The code simply doesn’t work, and the content isn’t provided anymore. Says it was already used. (which it was, clearly)
Mark Lester T.: For the Cerebrus Network you will need to redeem it through In game, Ty.
Mark Lester T.: Oh, Alright. Well that seems pretty weird. May I know what did EA inform you about this case? Because we cant check this code[removed] for your Mass Effect 2 Cerberus Network  here in our database because we can only check the code set as 25 digit codes. So basically the only way to have this doubled check is from the Mass Effect gaming servers and developers since they have their own database to check the game through in game, Ty.
you: They told me that the code was for the PC, and not for the Xbox 360. Clearly that was inaccurate, and I told them such. Had to upload an image of the paper to them as well, and once they finally acknowledged that the code was in fact for the Xbox 360, they basically told me to contact you guys, because they didn’t have control over Xbox codes. Here’s an actual quote from them. “The new code for the console can be generated by Microsoft.”
Mark Lester T.: And also, Ty. These code [removed] is  for the Mass Effect 3 Online Pass
Mark Lester T.: Congratulations on purchasing Mass Effect 3. This download enables you to join the war to take Earth back in online multiplayer. Online Pass is non-transferable. Online features can be discontinued at any time with 30-days’ notice at www.ea.com.
you: Yeah, I know. Not sure if I redeemed that second code yet or not, as I’ve yet to play the third game.
Mark Lester T.: So basically once you redeemed this you will only have withing 30 days and it can be discontinued.
you: Wait, what?
you: What are we talking about? Heh
Mark Lester T.: Mass Effect 3 Online Pass – Congratulations on purchasing Mass Effect 3. This download enables you to join the war to take Earth back in online multiplayer. Online Pass is non-transferable. Online features can be discontinued at any time with 30-days’ notice at www.ea.com.
Mark Lester T.: This is for the code [removed]
you: That’s correct.
Mark Lester T.: So did you redeem this code already?
Mark Lester T.: And for the 2nd code which is [removed] for your Mass Effect 2 Cerberus Network
you: I don’t recall. I may have, just to get it out of the way. I’ve yet to play ME3
Mark Lester T.: We cant do anything for it since this code can only be checked from the developers end.
you: So basically, EA sent me to you guys for no reason? Meaning, this is indeed on their end, and not Microsoft’s? I just want to get a clear confirmation as to who’s at fault here, so I can possibly rub it in their faces later on. :p
Mark Lester T.: Yes, Ty. I apologize if I was not able to provide the resolution you need right now, but I’m glad we chatted and have this concern moving and hopefully be resolved as soon as possible. Actually it is on there perspective to check on this code since this code can only be redeemed through in game. ANd we can no longer check the status and monitor if the issue is through in game. We can help you and assist you with the 25 digit codes were not redeemed however with the code [removed] for your Mass Effect 2 Cerberus Network this can only be sorted and resolved through their end, Ty. Thanks for understanding.
Mark Lester T.: No worries, I am going to provide you a reference number for this case.
you: Thanks. I suppose I’ll head on over their live chat, again; and hope that they can actually get their facts straight this time around. Seriously, they literally told me that the code was for the PC, and kept insisting that it wasn’t an Xbox 360 code. Gah, this should be a fun chat. :p
Mark Lester T.: And you can provide this to the game developer and you can inform them that we have advised you to contact them again for this issue, Ty.
you: They’ll just loop me back, I guarantee it. :p
Mark Lester T.: Oh, I see. Thanks for the information, Ty.
Mark Lester T.: I should be the one to thank you for the kindness and understanding. You’re such a good person. I hope I can help you with other concern. Is there anything else I can help you with?
you: Nope, that’s it. Can’t recall if I registered the ME3 Online Code yet, and I doubt I’ll know until I launch the game, which won’t be for another couple of months. So, I suppose if you hear back from me in a few months, you know the code didn’t work. :p
you: Thanks for the help, and for clarifying that this is on EA’s end.
Mark Lester T.: Sure thing. It has been a pleasure working with you on this.
Mark Lester T.: By the way
Mark Lester T.: Before you leave
Mark Lester T.: Ty?
Mark Lester T.: Actually, before you go would you mind doing me a favor and click on  the “Close chat” button on the upper right hand corner of the chat window? You will have the opportunity to leave feedback concerning your chat experience today.  I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day! And thank you for contacting Xbox Customer Support. Take care!
Mark Lester T.: I wish you all the best for the new year ahead and to your family as well!
you: Heh, normally those ‘before you go’ things always contain a coupon that’ll expire in six hours. I’ll be sure to leave some feedback.
Mark Lester T.: You may click on the “Close Chat” Button to properly end the chat session.  Happy to help out today. If theres’ nothing else, Thanks for choosing Xbox and you have a great day!

info: You are now ready to chat with Puneet .
Puneet : Thanks for contacting EA Customer Experience, my name is Puneet. How may I assist you today?
you: Hey there, this is regarding an older issue where you guys told me to contact Microsoft/Xbox, claiming that this was not a problem on your end.
you: I contacted Xbox support, and they told me that this is indeed on your end.
Puneet : Okay, I can understand this. May I have your name please?
you: Ty Harvey
Puneet : Nice to meet you Harvey, would you please tell me when did you purchased the code?
you: The code was included with Mass Effect Trilogy for the Xbox 360. I’ve uploaded an image to the ticket thing as proof. It was purchased between September 15th-19th, though I cannot confirm the date. Also, it was purchased as a new product.
you: The ME2 Cerberus Network code was at one point in time working, but I stopped playing the game, and changed my gamer tag in November. That’s when I also got an Xbox One, and haven’t really used my 360 a whole lot. So, I suppose in October or so, the code worked, and now, when I tried it a few days ago, it is no longer working, and says it has already been used. Which, it technically has, though I have no access to the content anymore
Puneet : Would you please tell me the game code?
you: I take it you’re not able to view past chats?
you: Hang on a sec
you: Here’s the code. [removed]
you: Your agents keep telling me that it is not for the Xbox 360, but rather the PC. This is false
you: I’ve uploaded an image to prove this via the support thing
you: Additionally, Microsoft has absolutely nothing to do with this specific code, because it’s redeemed through your game, and therefore (according to them) uses your database, and not theirs.
Puneet : Okay, I would like to tell you that you have redeem this code on your other account and you are trying to use this code on other account and this is the only reason why you are facing this issue.
you: I do not have any other Xbox Live accounts
you: You do mean XBL, right?
info: Your chat transcript will be sent to [removed] at the end of your chat session.
Puneet : Yes, you have, would you please tell me the E Mail on which you have accidentally redeem the code?
you: For Xbox Live?
you: You’re kind of confusing me here
Puneet : Exactly,
you: I do not have any other Xbox Live accounts.
Puneet : Okay, But still would you please guess your old E Mail ID’s which you used in the past.
you: I haven’t used any other email for my Xbox Live account for well over a year, so that shouldn’t be important. Do you mind if I ask why you’re requesting that I give you this information?
Puneet : Okay, but still would you please guess your e Mail which you used in the past.
you: The old email I used is [removed]. I don’t know why this was required though. I also had an Origin account with that email, but that’s inactive now.
Puneet : Exactly you have one of your gamer tag linked to [removed] this E Mail and on which you have redeem that code.
you: What?
you: The Xbox Live account itself was never changed, and I didn’t even own this game back when I used that email for XBL.
Puneet : You have used the Cerbus code on this E Mail ID.
you: Wait, what exactly are you talking about? Which service?
Puneet : Would you please tell me that did you ever done persona transfer?
you: I’m just going to assume that you mean Origin… Anyway, yes I did.
you: So, you’re telling me that the code was wiped when I did the transfer? Why wouldn’t that just, unlink the code, so I could register it again?
you: I didn’t think that this specific code, being as how it’s provided with the game itself, and acts as a way to access network features… Well, I didn’t think that this code would also be wiped during the transfer. Is that what happened?
Puneet : Exactly the code wiped when you done that.
you: Can you issue me a new code, or provide a way for me to regain access to the code that I already have?
you: I mean, it was provided with the game itself. It’s ludicrous for it to be wiped with a freaking transfer. Why would it even be designed in such a way? Why not just use Xbox Live for redemption?
Puneet : Okay, let me check with my supervisor If I can do anything with this issue or not.
you: Thank you. I’d get if this were just a in-game transaction or something, but this code came with the game itself. So, I’m going to push this as much as I can
Puneet : I’m sorry to tell you that we do not have the x box codes.
Puneet : I’m not be able to give you the codes.
you: Who can give me the code? Microsoft already told me that they have no control over it, and that it is entirely on your (EA) end.
Puneet : I’m sorry you have wiped out the code in persona transfer.
you: I’m not accepting that as an answer. We need to resolve this
Puneet : I’ms sorry I’ll not be able to help you with this issue.
you: Again, I do not accept that as an answer. You’re telling me that you do not have the capabilities of creating a new code, as you don’t have access to that. That implies that it’s on Microsoft’s end, though they’ve already told me that it is out of their control, and that I should contact the developer (aka you).
Puneet : I’m extremely sorry, I’ll not be able to help you in this in any manner.
you: Yes, you are. You represent Electronic Arts, and this is an issue on your end.
Puneet : I can understand this, but we do not have the codes for the consoles, we only have the codes for the PC version games.
you: Who has the console codes? Bioware?
Puneet : No one will have those codes.
you: Why?
Puneet : I’m sorry as you have accepted the disclaimer before persona transfer so you will not be able to get those.
you: Again, there was absolutely no mention of this affecting Mass Effect 2, as in appearance, it looks unrelated to Origin. Yes, I agreed to the disclaimer under the idea that this would not affect content provided in a physical product, and redeemed through the online interface.
Puneet : I do not have the tools to generate x box codes.
you: What are my options?
Puneet : Sorry, that code will not be available from us. you need to contact to x box support only.
you: That’s incorrect.
you: Xbox has absolutely nothing to do with this
you: They told me that themselves.
Puneet : I’m sorry, I’m here only for your help but this can not be done as we do not generate codes for consoles. I’m not able to help you with this issue.
you: Here’s what the Microsoft agent said when I asked if they could do anything with the code. “We cant do anything for it since this code can only be checked from the developers end.” Correct me if I’m wrong, but you’re the developer, right? EA? Now you’re contradicting what Microsoft told me, and honestly? I’m going to side with Microsoft when it comes to who’s right in the matter, as EA has been nothing but a nightmare to talk to, with nothing but misinformation and uninformed agents.
you: So please, do not try to send me back to Microsoft to generate a new code. The last EA agent I talked with was uninformed, and said that Microsoft had those capabilities, when they do not.
you: Now you’re saying the same thing
Puneet : I’m sorry, trust me if I have the option to generate codes then I would have done it straight away.
you: What are my available options? I can’t go to Microsoft, I can’t go to EA. Who / what / where do I go to actually get this problem resolved? Do I need to file some kind of complaint before this is actually resolved? What are my options? You can answer me that much, can’t you?
Puneet : I have provided you all the information regarding this issue and if you have any other issues then do let me know and I’m not able to help you with this issue.
you: That isn’t an answer. If there’s absolutely no way to get a new code, what exactly do I have to do to get back into the Cerberus Network?
you: The way you’re wording it, implies that I have zero options available to me.
you: I won’t accept that
Puneet : Okay, let me check it again for you.
Puneet : Please find the link below to download the Cerebus directly from Origin:-
http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Cerberus-Network/00000000-0000-400c-80cf-0001454108ce
Puneet : This will fix your issue and you will be able to get into that network.
you: I’m speechless right now… That still requires a code, which is no longer valid, and based off of what you’ve said, I have no way to obtain a new one.
Puneet : I have tried to find all the alternatives available with me to help you, but I’m sorry I ;ll not be able to help you with your issue.
you: Wow. You guys really need to work on your support services. This is absolutely insane! I’m done here. Clearly you have no idea what to do, or how to help; so goodbye, Puneet. I’m sorry for wasting your time

Thankfully, I speak Engrish fluently, and managed to figure out why my game code wasn’t working. Basically, I did an account transfer a while back that wiped out my data. To be fair, I did indeed accept and acknowledge that data would be deleted during the transfer from one Origin account to another, but I never once thought that this would also affect freaking game codes includes in the box for a god damn home console. I mean, who’d ever think that a game code that says ‘Xbox Live’ on it would get deleted along with the transfer process?
To top that all off, I have absolutely no way to use the code again, as it states that it is already in use. That basically means that the code is still technically active, but I just don’t have access to it.

I mean, what the hell? This kind of support shouldn’t happen. I went in hoping to clear up confusion, and left every time being more confused, and even a tad angry.

Seriously EA, if you’re reading this, please work on your support channels. I feel like I was treated like a second rate customer, and that my business with you is unwanted. Honestly, after going through all this, I doubt I will be purchasing any more of your products. I just can’t accept this level of idiocy.

Oh, and one more thing? Don’t outsource your support. Seriously, everyone hates that. I found it exceptionally hard to understand what the hell your support agent was telling me. So, if I can’t understand the people that are meant to be supporting me, what’s the point of even having support at all?
