Now, if you’ve read any of my previous articles on the matter, you’ll know that I am not a fan of Microsoft’s latest operating system, Windows 10. This thing has been so insanely bad, it even got me to switch on over to Ubuntu Linux, at least for a little while.

However, you may have also noticed my lack of recent complaints in regards to Windows 10. You see, up until just now, Windows 10 has been running flawlessly. All of the issues I once had, have since been fixed. Disk usage, daily crashing of core services, unkillable processes. That has all been resolved, at least for the most part. I had one instance where core services, such as the start menu, desktop, and taskbar, all restarted itself for what appeared to be a memory related bug. That only happened once, and given the fact that they did indeed restart, rather than just hard crash, it is technically a step up from what I used to encounter on a daily basis.

Except, today I encountered something else entirely. While there is very little information about this problem online, it appears to be unofficially dubbed the black screen of death, which I find is a very accurate name.
Essentially, the screen goes black, leaving nothing but your mouse cursor visible. The only fix is to completely power down and restart your computer, with basic troubleshooting things like control, alt, delete, having no effect. It’s just a giant hard lock, with nothing to do but kill the power.

And that, is why I am writing this article. This rant, if you will. I don’t really have anything of value to put here, other than my own self thoughts, and to use this poorly crafted article as a form of self medication against the insanities of my mind, caused mostly by everyday bullshit, like Windows 10 being a poorly crafted piece of shit.
